Made by Lex offers a fantastic dressmaking tutorial. I'm new to her site and intend to read it as often as I can. I've not perused them all, but she offers several tutorials. I am eager to read part 2 in her dressmaking series. She does wonderful things with knit fabrics as well.

As I too am self-taught when it comes to design, pattern-making and garment construction, my process may bear no resemblance to anyone else's. It's a comfort to read about others who similarly don't use patterns - in the traditional sense. Tomorrow night I begin a 4-part class that I've enrolled in to dymystify the pattern language in garment construction. I'll be sure to share any gems.
