summer blueberry pie

Yesterday, in honor of a dear friend's 25th birthday, we made a scrumptious blueberry pie. The kids deciding what to make her for the dessert portion was a multi-day process. They decided that a pie might be just a bit more "special" for our friend. The warm version was a tad bit too lemony to be sure. This morning however, the chilled left over for breakfast was perfection! Next pie (later this week) will be of the mixed berry variety.

One more big berry picking outing for blues this weekend - here - then we'll shift to blacks.
