I made a small (easily portable) sign on poplar to hang from a length of sisal. I'm pleased with the end result. It was perfect to hang on the end of my garment rack. Here it is in the back yard.

burn out
I was in need of a quick business sign for Spool + Sparrow to use this past weekend. I considered a large canvas banner but you can't always count on a place to hang it. Thus, I went with the more exciting wood burned option. I think it was at Camp Orkila on Orcas Island at around age 11 or 12 that I last used a wood burning tool. No idea what I made back then.

So sweet! Did you start with a stencil or a rubbing of your letters? I'm using your canvas sign tutorial for our market stall sign. I love this one, too. Thanks so much!
